LOCATION - Lat 28°31'52.5", long 97°02'33.7" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Refugio County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12100303, on right bank at downstream side of bridge on U.S. Hwy 77, 3.2 mi southwest of McFaddin, and at mile 13.9.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4,134 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Nov. 2005 to current year. PERIOD OF RECORD, Water-Quality.-- CHEMICAL DATA: Dec. 2006 to Oct. 2007. RADIOCHEMICAL DATA: Dec. 2006 to Oct. 2007.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 6.52 ft above NGVD of 1929. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - No known regulation. There are many diversions above station, but amounts are unknown. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 20,600 ft³/s Aug. 25, 2007 (gage height, 33.58 ft), minimum discharge, 92 ft³/s Oct. 5, 2011.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Oct. 2011 to Current.
INSTRUMENTATION - Unshielded, standard 8-in. diameter tipping-bucket raingage, mounted 3 ft above the gage shelter, with satellite telemetry. Datum of gage is 6.52 ft. above NGVD of 1929.
EXTREMES FOR CURRENT YEAR - Maximum daily rainfall was 5.01 inches on June 19, 2018.
REMARKS - 2018 Water Year records are rated poor due to missing data from 06/26/2018 to 09/05/2018, during which time the precipitation dropped below threshold and had to be offset back to normal by 20.58 inches to match with values preceding. Reason for drop below threshold was unknown. Timing of events compares well with downstream gage 08188810-Guadalupe River at SH 35 near Tivoli, TX.
