LOCATION - Lat 27°57'53", long 98°58'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Webb County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12110105, at downstream side of bridge on State Highway 44, 11.4 mi upstream from mouth, and 22.0 mi northwest of Freer.
DRAINAGE AREA - 469 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Jan. 1962 to current year. PERIOD OF RECORD, Water-Quality.-- CHEMICAL DATA: Nov. 1965 to Oct. 1967. BIOCHEMICAL DATA: Nov. 1965 to Oct. 1967.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 297.30 ft NAVD88,. Satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - No known regulation or diversions. No flow at times. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically. Gage was removed on 11/21/2017 and reinstalled on 3/06/2019 due to road construction.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage since at least 1946, that of Oct. 17, 1971. The next highest stage, 26 ft (discharge 65,200 ft³/s), occurred in 1954, from information by Texas Department of Transportation.
