08212300 Tranquitas Creek at Kingsville, TX
LOCATION - Lat 27°31'33", long 97°52'02" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Kleberg County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 12110204, CSG and WWT are attached to the downstream side of 6th Street bridge, 4.9 miles upstream from San Fernando Creek, and 5.9 miles downstream from Tranquitas Dam.  Gage is located on the left downstream side of the bridge.
DRAINAGE AREA - 48.5 mi². Determined from USGS topographic maps, scale 1:24,000 and 1:62,500.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Apr. 6, 1965 to Nov. 15, 1990, Apr. 30, 1992 to current year.
GAGE - Crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 46.354 ft. above NAV88. Datum of gage is 50.27 ft above NGVD 1929. Datum of gage is 46.354 ft. above NAVD88.  Prior to Oct. 1, 1980, stage-rainfall recorder at same datum.
REMARKS - Records fair. No known regulation or diversions. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers started channel rectification in May, 1956 and completed the project in Oct. 1956. Some records listed in the "Period of Record" for surface water and water quality may not be available electronically.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum stage from 1921, 58.3 ft (msl) from City of Kingsville records.
