LOCATION - Lat 36°59'35", long 106°02'17" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.24, T.32 N., R.8 E., Rio Arriba County, NM, Hydrologic Unit 13010005, on left bank 800 ft upstream (south) from Colorado-New Mexico State line, 0.4 mi southeast of Ortiz, and 0.4 mi upstream from Los Pinos River.
DRAINAGE AREA - 110 mi². approximately.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1732: 1951. WSP 1923: 1927 (monthly discharge and runoff).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Elevation of gage is 7,970 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to Apr. 7, 1926, nonrecording gage at various locations near present site, at different datums. Apr. 7, 1926 to June 24, 1954, water-stage recorder on right bank at site 200 ft downstream at present datum.

REMARKS - Water year 2014; records good except for flows below 3.0 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2015; records good except for flows above 340 ft³/s and below 2.0 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2016; records good except for the period Aug. 17 to Sept. 26, flows above 140 ft³/s and below 2.0 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2017; records fair except for the period Oct. 1 to Nov. 17, flows below 1 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2018; records fair except for flows below 1.0 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2019; records fair except for flows below 1.0 ft³/s, and estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
