08330600 TIJERAS ARROYO NEAR ALBUQUERQUE, NM
LOCATION - Lat 35°00'07", long 106°39'27" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Bernalillo County, NM, Hydrologic Unit 13020203, on right bank approximately 0.5 miles downstream from bridge on Broadway Boulevard SE, 0.8 miles downstream from the bridge on I-25, and 3 miles south of Albuquerque. This is also approximately 1000 feet upstream from the South Diversion Channel confluence. The gage was moved to its present location on September 23, 2005, from a site approximately 0.7 miles upstream.
DRAINAGE AREA - 128 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - Prior to June 26, 2024 the datum of the gage was 4999 ft above NGVD29 (determined via topographic map). Notes indicate that the datum has been also published as 4,980 and 5,001.6 ft.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1951 to September 1968 (annual maximum only), August 1974 to September 1998 (seasonal records), October 1998 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 4950.54 ft above NAVD88 as determined by a GNSS Level II rapid-static survey performed by the USGS on May 7, 2024. Prior to Mar. 10, 1988, gage was at a site 1,700 ft downstream at different datum. Since September 23, 2005, the data has been transmitted via satellite using the nearby South Diversion Channel (08330775) recorder. A tipping-bucket rain gage, recording in 0.01-inch increments, was installed on the South Diversion gage house in August 2007.
REMARKS - Water years 2014-2017; records good except for estimated discharges, which are poor. Water years 2018-2019; records fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.
