DRAINAGE AREA - 932 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1932 to April 1939 (at site 1 mile downstream; records for periods of low flow not equivalent) April 1939 to September 1987. September 2012 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Elevation of gage is unknown. Sept. 6, 2012 to present, new site, new datum. Mar. 1932 to Sept. 1987 at site 1,500 feet upstream, different datum.
REMARKS - Records good except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood in 1954 is the highest since 1894, from information by local residents. Flood of Oct. 1904, is probably second highest. Another major flood occurred in April 1915.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 74,000 cfs, Oct. 7, 1954 (gage height, 27.5 ft, from flood marks), from rating curve extended above 12,000 cfs on basis of slope-area measurement at point 5 1/2 miles upstream from gage (adjusted for channel storage).
