08419000 Pecos River at FM 3398 near Pecos, TX
LOCATION - Lat 31°29'01.9", long 103°29'24.6" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Reeves County, TX, Hydrologic Unit 13070001, on the right bank, upstream side of the FM3398 bridge 4.7 miles north of Pecos Texas. 5.5 miles downstream of the Barstow dam.
DRAINAGE AREA - 26,230 mi² of which 4,130 mi² probably is noncontributing.  
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Aug. 2016 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. CWQM multiparameter sonde. Datum of gage is 2563.97ft above NAVD88 as determined by GNSS survey. Prior to Oct. 7, 2024, the datum of the gage was erroneously listed at 2,563.91ft above NAVD88. Satellite telemeter at station.
COOPERATION - Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
REMARKS - Flow largely regulated by storage in Red Bluff Reservoir, which has a capacity of 307,000 acre-ft, the Barstow irrigation supply dam 5.5mi upstream, and by other reservoirs in New Mexico.

A four parameter continuous water-quality monitoring sonde from Aug. 2016 to Sept. 14, 2017.

A three parameter continuous water-quality monitoring sonde from Sept. 15, 2017 to Feb. 22, 2022.

A two parameter continuous water-quality monitoring sonde from Feb. 22, 2022 to current.

REMARKS - Interruptions or periods of missing record may be due to instrument failure, no flow conditions or data corrections exceeding allowable criteria, which were deleted. Other than no flow conditions, minimum and maximum extremes may have occurred during period of missing record.
