LOCATION - Lat 38°56'35", long 107°21'07" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 sec.08, T.13 S., R.89 W., Gunnison County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 14020004, in gate house of Paonia Dam on Muddy Creek, 16 mi east of Paonia.
DRAINAGE AREA - 257 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR CO-92-2; 1988-91.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 1961 to September 1987, October 2017 to September 2018. GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry. Datum of gage is 6,447.50 ft above NGVD of 1929 (levels by U.S. Bureau of Reclamation).

REMARKS - Reservoir is formed by an earthfill dam. Storage began in December 1961; dam completed January 1962. Capacity, 15,977 acre-ft between elevation 6,290.0 ft streambed at dam, and 6,447.5 ft, crest of spillway. Dead storage below elevation 6,358.0 ft, 424 acre-ft. Inactive storage below elevation 6362.0 ft, 560 acre-ft. Figures published prior to 1988 water year are active contents; figures given beginning 1988 water year are live contents.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum contents, 19,300 acre-ft, March 29, 1988, elevation, 6,449.79 ft; minimum contents, 0.04 acre-ft, October 1, 2017, elevation, 6358.83 ft.
