LOCATION - Lat 38°01'50.54", long 108°06'37.04" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.30, T.44 N., R.11 W., San Miguel County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 14030003, on left bank on downstream side of bridge just off of Specie Creek road, 0.03 mi south of State Highway 145, 0.4 mi downstream from Specie Creek, and 3.35 mi northwest of Placerville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 309 mi².

See WSP 1713 or 1733 for history of changes prior to Oct. 21, 1958. Oct. 22, 1958 to Mar. 4, 1986, gage located 0.8 mi upstream from present site, at different datum. Mar. 5, 1986, gage moved to present site, at present datum. Prior to Oct. 26, 2017, gage located 1.8 mi downstream from present site, at different datum.

Regulation by Lake Hope and Trout Lake operated by the City of Telluride, Public Service Company of Colorado, Pacific Light and Power Company, and Tri State Power Company, combined capacity, 5,040 acre-feet.
