LOCATION - Lat 38°34'23.83", long 109°34'01.95" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Grand County, UT, Hydrologic Unit 14030005,
DRAINAGE AREA - 142 mi². Drainage area as determined by Streamstats using the WBD is 142 sq mi.
REVISIONS HISTORY -

Revisions: Gage height and discharge for the period Oct 25, 2018, to Feb 4, 2019, were revised on Sep 19, 2019, based on a timestamp error that was found with GOES transmitted gage height data. Gage height data transmitted via GOES was replaced with data which was directly downloaded from the station and had the correct timestamp.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 2, 2018 to present.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Base elevation of the gage is 3,960.74 ft above NAVD88 from a Level 3 GNSS survey on Oct 29, 2021. The vertical peak-to-peak error of the survey was 0.27 ft.
REMARKS - Sheley Tunnel, which diverts water from Mill Creek for K. E. McDougald Reservoir, is located about 10 mi upstream of the gage. Up to 60 ft³/s of flow can be diverted through the tunnel. There is another diversion to the Moab Irrigation company about 3 mi upstream below the confluence with the Left Hand Fork of Mill Creek.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - A peak of 5,110 cfs was recorded at upstream station 09184000 Mill Creek near Moab on 08/21/1953. No information could be found regarding the accuracy of method of how the peak was determined. A peak of 5,100 cfs also occurred at this station on 08/26/1961. Both peaks are listed in the 09184000 peak flow file.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 963 ft³/s, Aug 02, 2021, gage height, 12.99 ft. No flow at times during the summer months.
