LOCATION - Lat 40°12'24", long 109°51'33" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.23, T.3 S., R.1 E., Uintah County, UT, Hydrologic Unit 14060003, Uintah and Ouray Indian Reservation, on county road bridge.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,710 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1997 to February 1998 (miscellaneous measurements only), March 1998 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 4,837.01 ft. above NAVD of 1988 from a Level II GNSS survey conducted on August 31, 2021. Prior to September 15, 2011, located 300 ft downstream at same datum; and prior to October 6, 2009, located 40 ft downstream at same datum; and prior to April 5, 2006, located near current site at same datum.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by several reservoirs. Natural flow affected by upstream diversions for irrigation. Records are good except for estimated values, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 6,730 ft³/s, Jul 2, 2011, gage height 8.85 ft; maximum gage height, 9.06 ft, June 18, 2019; minimum daily discharge, 2.4 ft³/s, Apr 13, 2004.
