USGS Water-Year Summary 2021
LOCATION - Lat 39°15'52", long 110°20'34" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.09, T.18 S., R.14 E., Emery County, UT, Hydrologic Unit 14060007, on left downstream wingwall of highway bridge, 0.25 mi downstream from railroad bridge at Woodside, and 16.0 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,540 mi².

The primary reference gage readings and measurement gage heights for visits on 3/7/2019 and 4/16/2019 were adjusted by +0.02 ft due to a datum correction found from levels on 9/10/2019.

Specific Conductance mean daily values were deleted on 6/14/2018 and 7/9/2018 because there was no valid minimum daily value on those days.

PERIOD OF RECORD - September 1909 to December 1910, January to August 1911 (gage heights only), November 1945 to September 1992, and July 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 4,600 ft above NGVD of 1929, by barometer. September 1909 to August 1911, reference point at site about 100 ft downstream of railroad bridge at different datum. November 27, 1945 to October 16, 1954, water-stage recorder at site 215 ft downstream of railroad bridge at a different datum. October 16, 1954 to Mar 25, 2008 at site 200 ft downstream of railroad bridge and datum 1.85 ft lower than previous site. Mar 25, 2008 to present at site 0.25 mi downstream of railroad bridge and new datum.
REMARKS - Records are generally good to fair except for estimated daily values which are poor. Quality of data for specific periods can be obtained by contacting the Utah Water Science Center. Diversions above station for irrigation of about 18,000 acres. Flow affected by storage in Scofield Reservoir, usable capacity, 65,780 acre-ft, since 1926 (see station 09311000).
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 11,200 ft³/s, Sep 7, 1991, gage height, 13.49 ft, from rating curve extended above 6,840 ft³/s; no flow at times in some years.
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 1946 to September 1949, February 1951 to September 1988, November 1991 to June 1993, March 1995 to September 1997, November 2000 to current year.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - WATER TEMPERATURE: February 1951 to September 1959, November 1961 to September 1963, October 1964 to September 1978, November 2000 to current year. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: February 1951 to September 1978, September to November 2005, February to March 2006, May 2006 to May 2007, September 2007 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water temperature probe until August 31, 2005; after August 31, 2005, combined water temperature and specific conductance probe.
REMARKS - Quality of data for specific periods can be obtained by contacting the Utah Water Science Center.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, 36.3°C, Jul 22, 2003; minimum, -0.9°C, Feb 2, 3, 5, 6, 2004. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum observed, 8,540 microsiemens/cm, Dec 11, 1951; minimum, 433 microsiemens/cm, Apr 2, 2011.
