09326500 FERRON CREEK (UPPER STATION) NEAR FERRON, UT
LOCATION - Lat 39°06'15", long 111°12'57" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.02, T.20 S., R.6 E., Emery County, UT, Hydrologic Unit 14060009, on the right bank 1.8 mi. upstream from Dry Wash, and 4.5 mi. west of Ferron, UT.
DRAINAGE AREA - 138 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1243: 1951(P). WSP 1313: 1920(M). Prior to Aug 14, 2023, the datum of the gage was 6,210 ft above NGVD of 1929 from a topographic map.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1911 to September 1923, October 1947 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1313. Records for station at site 2 mi downstream published as Ferron Creek near Ferron, April 1909 to October 1911, not equivalent because of diversions 1.5 mi downstream from present site.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 6,290.26 ft above NAVD of 1988, from a Level 2 GNSS survey conducted by USGS personnel on August 14, 2023. May 6, 1911 to September 30, 1923, nonrecording gages in vicinity of present site at different datums. December 19, 1947 to September 30, 1966, at site 2.3 mi downstream at different datum, October 1, 1966 to August 22, 1978 at site 0.8 mi plus 200 ft downstream at different datum. August 23, 1978 to November 19, 2008 0.8 mi downstream of present site at different datum 5.0 ft higher. Nov 19, 2008 to Jun 14, 2022 at same site 0.8 mi downstream of present site but with a 5.00 ft datum addition that is different from the current datum. Jun 14, 2022 to present at location 0.8 mi upstream from the reservoir at new local datum. Gage is on the right bank.
REMARKS - Records generally good except for periods of estimated daily discharge and periods affected by drawdown corrections which are fair.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge observed, 4,180 ft³/s, Aug 27, 1952, gage height, 9.71 ft, site and datum then in use, from rating table extended above 400 ft³/s, on basis of slope-area measurements at gage heights 8.70 ft and 9.71 ft, site and datum then in use; no flow Oct 19, 20, 21, 1976.

DISSOLVED OXYGEN: Maximum recorded, 12.1 mg/L, May 13, 2014 and Apr 5, 2017; minimum recorded, 6.7 mg/L, Jun 27, 2018. TURBIDITY: Maximum recorded, > 4,400 FNU, Jun 6, 2020; minimum recorded, 0.3 FNU, Jul 4, 2018. Turbidity sensor maximum was approximately 1,250 FNU from WY 2014-2019. For WY 2020 until present the turbidity sensor maximum was 4,400 FNU. DAILY SEDIMENT CONCENTRATION: Maximum seasonal value (Apr-Jul), 10,600 mg/L (estimated), Apr 15, 2019; minimum seasonal (Apr-Jul) value, 6.7 mg/L, Jul 4, 2018.
