LOCATION - Lat 37°00'49", long 107°18'42" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.17, T.32 N., R.4 W., Archuleta County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 14080101, on right bank five feet above the maximum water surface of Navajo Reservoir, 3 mi. northwest of Carracas, and 7.2 mi. upstream from Piedra River.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,250 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2011: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1961 to current year. Statistical summary computed for 1971 to current year, subsequent to completion of Azotea Tunnel.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 6,090 ft above NGVD of 1929, from river-profile map.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 9,730 ft³/s, Sept. 6, 1970, from rating curve extended above 6,000 ft³/s, on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow, gage height, 8.34 ft.
