LOCATION - Lat 37°01'39", long 108°44'27" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Montezuma County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 14080107, Ute Mountain Ute Indian Reservation, on left bank 700 ft. upstream from bridge on U.S. Highway 491, 2.0 mi. north of Colorado-New Mexico State line, 6.0 mi. upstream from Aztec Creek, and 12 mi. south of Towaoc, CO.
DRAINAGE AREA - 526 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1733: 1924 (monthly figures only). WDR CO-83-3: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1920 to September 1943, February 1951 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1313.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 5,055.98 ft above NGVD of 1929. See WSP 1713 or 1733 for history of changes prior to Mar. 11, 1954.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 5,300 ft³/s, Oct. 14, 1941, from rating curve extended above 200 ft³/s, on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow, gage height, 7.30 ft, present site and datum.
