LOCATION - Lat 37°13'08.00", long 109°11'25.48" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.17, T.41 S., R.25 E., San Juan County, UT, Hydrologic Unit 14080202,
DRAINAGE AREA - 720 mi².

The drainage consists of outcrops of sandstone with sand, gravel, cobble rock, and large boulders throughout. There is little vegetation with only some outcrops of willow, russian olive, and tamarisk in the riparian zone. The main channel is very wide upstream, and the river meanders in new areas after each flood.
