09378170 SOUTH CREEK ABOVE RESERVOIR, NEAR MONTICELLO, UT
LOCATION - Lat 37°50'48", long 109°22'08" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.02, T.34 S., R.23 E., San Juan County, UT, Hydrologic Unit 14080203, 200 feet upstream from west side of reservoir and 2 miles southwest of Monticello.
DRAINAGE AREA - 8.64 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - 10/25/2018 to 10/17/2019 was revised to remove a +0.02 ft datum correction. The correction was removed from the Gage height time-series, all staff gage (SG) readings, and all measurement gage heights (excluding the 10/25/2018 visit). It was determined that the staff reference gage has remained stable and the correction was due to an error in reading an elevation from the staff gage at a prior date.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1985 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 7,164.57 ft above NAVD of 1988, from a Level II GNSS static survey on August 4, 2023, by USGS.
REMARKS - The record is good except for flows below a gage height of 0.40 ft which are considered poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 281 cfs, Aug 2, 2021, gage height, 6.21 ft; no flow at times in some years.
