LOCATION - Lat 38°00'15", long 114°12'22" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.25, T.2 N., R.69 E., Lincoln County, NV, Hydrologic Unit 15010013, on left bank, at state highway 322 bridge, 1.2 mi north of Ursine, NV, and 1.3 mi south of Eagle Valley Reservoir State Park.
DRAINAGE AREA - 293 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Aug. 1962 to Sep. 1974, Nov. 1974 to Apr. 1975 (periodic discharge measurements), and Dec. 2002 to Oct. 2009. Apr. 2014 to current year. Prior to Oct. 1972 published as Spring Valley Creek nr Ursine.
GAGE - Datum of gage is 5653.91 ft above NAVD of 1988. The NAVD of 1988 datum was determined by a level 2 GNSS survey (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000), GEOID18) by USGS on March 11, 2020 and tied to RM4. Prior to March 11, 2020, the gage datum was 5670 ft above NGVD of 1929 as determined via topographic map by USGS on November 10, 1973. Since Dec. 2002, same site at different datum.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by releases from Eagle Valley Reservoir 1.3 miles upstream. 04/23/2014-09/30/2014: Records fair except for estimated daily discharges and discharges above 25 ft³/s, which are poor. 10/01/2014-09/30/2015: Records fair for except estimated daily discharges and discharges above 18 ft³/s, which are poor. 10/01/2015-09/30/2016: Records fair except for estimated daily discharges and discharges above 18 ft³/s, which are poor. 10/01/2016-09/30/2017: Records fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. 10/01/2017-09/30/2018: Records fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. 10/01/2018-09/30/2019: Records fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor. 10/01/2019-09/30/2020: Records fair. 10/01/2020-09/30/2021: Records fair.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge 950 ft³/s, Jan. 11, 2005, gage height, 8.91 ft, from slope area computation of peak flow; minimum daily, 0.40 ft³/s, Oct. 23, 1965.
