LOCATION - Lat 33°18'00", long 109°29'30" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.32, T.1 S., R.28 E., Greenlee County, AZ, Hydrologic Unit 15040005,
DRAINAGE AREA - 377 mi².  
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Aug. 1944 to Sep. 1967;  Sep. 2018 to present.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder housed in a 24 in corrugated metal pipe on the right bank. Elevation of gage is 4,677.8 ft above sea level, NAVD 1988. Previous elevation of 4704 ft from topographic map. From 1952 to 1967 gage elevation was listed as 4722 ft from barometer, prior to Jan. 13, 1952, at datum 2.01 ft higher.
REMARKS - Record good for discharge in the range of wading measurements. Elevated and estimated record is poor. Baseflow at gage from upstream pumping and discharge into channel to support operations at Morenci mine.  
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 30,000 cfs on Oct. 20, 1972 gage height 12.02 ft.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 13,600 cfs Dec. 30, 1965 gage height 9.20 ft.
