LOCATION - Lat 32°48'06", long 109°38'19" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.25, T.7 S., R.26 E., Graham County, AZ, Hydrologic Unit 15040006,
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,192 mi².  
PERIOD OF RECORD - Data collection began in June 1931 and ended Sept. 1932. May 1935 to Sept. 1982

Jul. 12, 2021 to present:  Station was re-established on Jul. 12, 2021, using a pressure sensor, and Sutron Sat3 DCP in a 24x30x30-inch metal enclosure atop existing stilling well structure.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 2,982 ft above sea level, from NAVD 88.
REMARKS - Record fair for discharge lower than 50 cfs, record poor for elevated flows.  Records do not include wastewater passing station from San Jose Canal, which diverts from Gila River. Irrigation of about 34,000 acres above station, mostly by pumping from groundwater. Flood flows are partly regulated by flood control detention structures on main stream and tributaries; combined maximum capacity in excess of 10,000 acre-ft. Irregular low flow from irrigation returns at station.  
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 27,000 cfs  Aug. 09, 1931, gage height 19.00 ft, by slope area measurement of peak flow.
