LOCATION - Lat 32°43'42", long 114°42'50" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Yuma County, AZ, Hydrologic Unit 15030107, NE 1/4 NW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec. 36, T. 16 S., R. 21 W., San Bernardino Prime Meridian, 2400 ft. downstream from outlet of Yuma Desalting Plant.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
REMARKS - This station is used to monitor the discharge of water into the Colorado River from the Bureau of Reclamation Yuma Desalting plant. The desalt plant was off-line for many years. The flow reported for Water Year 2007 and Water Year 2010 were for a test-run of the plant, at 10% capacity, to determine if the plant was still operational and economically efficient to run. The plant maintains a minimal flow to keep licensing current. Only monthly totals, in acre-feet, are included in the monthly report.
