USGS Water-Year Summary 2024
10141000 WEBER RIVER NEAR PLAIN CITY, UT
LOCATION - Lat 41°16'42", long 112°05'28" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.08, T.6 N., R.2 W., Weber County, UT, Hydrologic Unit 16020102, on upstream side of right highway bridge abutment, on State Highway 4, 1 mi downstream from Fourmile Creek, 1.5 mi south of Plain City, and 6 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA - 2,081 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR UT-77-1: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1904 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1314.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest stage gage. Datum of gage is 4,200.22 ft. above NAVD of 1988 from NGS BM DESIGNATION - WC 119, (PID DR5515) on May 14, 2021. Prior to August 29, 1949, nonrecording gage at present site, and August 30, 1949 to June 21, 1966, water-stage recorder on right bank 50 ft upstream. Prior to October 1, 1986 gage datum was 10.0 ft higher.
REMARKS - Flow is diverted during summer months for irrigation above station. Flow is regulated by Rockport, Echo, Lost Creek, East Canyon, and Pine View Reservoirs; also diversion above station to Willard Bay Reservoir. Prior to April 16, 2015, records are fair except as noted. For the 2014 and 2015 water years, discharge values less than 40 ft³/s are poor due to unstable and variable control conditions. After April 15, 2016, Index Velocity methods were used to calculate discharge and the accuracy of the discharge record was substantially improved. Velocity data during low flows (<40 cfs) exhibits large variability as a result of backwater causing ponded conditions at the gage. When extremely variable velocity data is recorded, the daily value is estimated. Record is considered good except when discharge is less than 40 cfs which are considered fair and estimated record is rated poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 10,100 ft³/s, May 6, 1952, gage height, 19.01 ft datum then in use; minimum daily discharge, 1.0 ft³/s, Sep. 1, 1961.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS

SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: September 2018 to October 2019, August 2021 to present.

INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor with water temperature and specific conductance from September 2018 to October 2019, August 2021 to present.
REMARKS - Quality of data for specific period can be obtained by contacting the Utah Water Science Center.
