LOCATION - Lat 33°16'45", long 116°25'50" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, San Diego County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18100203, in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, on left bank, 3.3 mi northwest of Borrego Springs.
DRAINAGE AREA - 21.8 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 2128: Drainage area.
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1950 to September 1993, October 1994 to September 2007, Jan. 6, 2015 to current year. Prior to October 1960, published as "Palm Canyon Creek." Monthly discharge only for October to November 1950, published in WSP 1734. Miscellaneous measurements only October 2004 to September 2007.
GAGE - None. Datum of gage is 1,171.74 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - No regulation or diversion upstream from station. See schematic diagram of Salton Sea Basin available from the California Water Science Center.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 2,990 ft³/s, Aug. 20, 2003, gage height, 10.17 ft, datum then in use from floodmarks, on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow, maximum gage height, 18.03 ft, discharge not determined from high-water mark, Sept. 10, 2004; no flow for many days in most years.
