10257600 Mission Creek near Desert Hot Springs, CA
LOCATION - Lat 34°00'40", long 116°37'38" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.17, T.2 S., R.4 E., Riverside County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18100201, in Mission Creek Indian Reservation, on right bank, 0.6 mi downstream from West Fork, and 6.8 mi northwest of Desert Hot Springs.
DRAINAGE AREA - 35.6 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1967 to December 18, 2019 (discontinued).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, and natural cobble riffle since Dec. 2019. Elevation of gage is 2,400 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to Dec. 2019, water-stage recorder and concrete scour limiter at site 1.4 mi upstream at different datum. 
REMARKS - Slight regulation of low flow by two small dams with a combined capacity of about 3 acre-ft, 3.4 mi upstream from station. See schematic diagram of Salton Sea Basin available from the California Water Science Center.  Due to channel changes caused by Feb. 14, 2019 flood event the gage relocated Dec. 18, 2019, 1.4mi downstream using a new gage datum.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 1,750 ft³/s, Aug. 17, 1983, gage height, 3.33 ft, on basis of slope-conveyance study of peak flow, maximum gage height, 6.40 ft, Jan. 25, 1969; no flow for many days in some years.
