LOCATION - Lat 37°14'27", long 118°33'52" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.22, T.8 S., R.31 E., Inyo County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18090102, in Inyo National Forest, on left bank, at diversion dam and aqueduct, and 10.5 mi southwest of Bishop.
DRAINAGE AREA - 27.8 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1994 to September 2002 (low-flow records only), October 2002 to current year. Unpublished records prior to October 1994 available in files of Southern California Edison Co.
GAGE - Acoustic-velocity meter or water-stage recorder and flume. Elevation of gage is 7,130 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records collected by Southern California Edison Co., under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 1394.
REMARKS - Flow regulated by South Lake (station 10270700). Most of the water is diverted by South Fork Diversion Dam to Intake No. 2 Reservoir (station 10270875) for power development downstream. South Fork Diversion Dam spill bypasses this station. See schematic diagram of Bishop Creek Basin available from the California Water Science Center. No flow in WY2024.
