LOCATION - Lat 38°01'56", long 119°13'11" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.16, T.2 N., R.25 E., Mono County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18090101, near right abutment of spillway of Lundy Lake Dam, on Mill Creek, and 7.6 mi northwest of Lee Vining.
DRAINAGE AREA - 16.3 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1990 to current year. Unpublished records prior to October 1990 available in files of Southern California Edison Co.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929 (levels by Southern California Edison Co.).
COOPERATION - Records were collected by Southern California Edison Co., under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 1390.
REMARKS - Reservoir is formed on natural lake by rock-fill dam completed in 1910. Contents based on capacity table dated Aug. 17, 1981. Usable capacity, 4,029 acre-ft between elevations 7,768.65 ft, invert of outlet, and 7,807.81 ft, crest of spillway. Figures given represent usable contents at 2400 hours. Water is used for power development and irrigation downstream.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum contents, 4,200 acre-ft, July 7, 8, 2005, July 7, 8, 2011, maximum elevation, 7,808.49 ft, July 7, 2011; minimum, no storage Apr. 10 through May 8, 2009.
