LOCATION - Lat 38°38'12", long 119°30'27" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.12, T.9 N., R.22 E., Mono County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 16050302, on right bank, 0.1 mi downstream from West Walker River, and 2 mi north-northeast of Topaz, CA.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Aug. 2010 to Sep. 2015; May 2017 to Jul. 2017; Mar 2023 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 5,020 ft above North American Vertical datum of 1988, from digital elevation model.
REMARKS - 10/01/2013-09/30/2014: Records fair. 10/01/2014-09/30/2015: Records fair. 05/21/2017-07/09/2017: Records fair. Canal was constructed in 1921 to divert flows from West Walker River to Topaz Lake (station 10297000). Flow is regulated by the head gate to the canal (0.1 mi upstream) and many diversions for irrigation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 2,500 ft³/s June 24, 2011, gage height 6.82 ft; minimum daily, 0.01 ft³/s several days in Sep. and Oct. 2010.
