LOCATION - Lat 39°23'20", long 120°05'43" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.28, T.18 N., R.17 E., Nevada County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 16050102, in control house at Boca Dam, on Little Truckee River, 1,800 ft upstream from mouth, and 6.3 mi northeast of Truckee.
DRAINAGE AREA - 172 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1634: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 1938 to current year. Prior to October 1976 published as "at Boca." Monthend contents only for December 1938 to September 1957, published in WSP 1734.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929 and 3.90 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Reservoir is formed by earth-fill, rock-faced dam. Contents based on capacity table dated November 1970. Storage began Dec. 8, 1938. Usable capacity, 40,868 acre-ft, between elevations 5,521 ft, outlet sill, and 5,605 ft, top of spillway gates. Elevation of spillway (gate open) is 5,589.01 ft. Dead contents, 241 acre-ft. Figures given, including extremes, represent usable contents at 2400 hours. Water is used for irrigation in the State of Nevada and for power development.
