LOCATION - Lat 42°36'12.6", long 120°11'14.3" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.24, T.34 S., R.21 E., Lake County, OR, Hydrologic Unit 17120006, on east shore of lake, 9.7 miles northeast of Valley Falls.
DRAINAGE AREA - 860 mi². approximately.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1915 to September 1918 (fragmentary), October 1961 to September 1965 (published as 10382000 Abert Lake near Valley Falls, OR) , June 2023 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NAVD of 1988. Oct. 1961 to Sept. 1965, nonrecording gage at same site at different datum. 
REMARKS - The lake has no outlet and water is highly mineralized. Records of chemical analyses for the water year 1964 are published in reports of the Geological Survey.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum elevation since June 1, 2023, 4,252.74 ft Jun. 13, 2023, affected by wind; minimum since June 1, 2023, 4250.79 ft Sept. 27, 2023.
