LOCATION - Lat 32°35'28", long 116°31'29" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.24, T.18 S., R.4 E., San Diego County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18070305, on left bank, just upstream from bridge on State Highway 94, and 3.5 mi southwest of Campo.
DRAINAGE AREA - 85 mi². of which 3 mi² are in Mexico.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1635: 1937-38 (instantaneous maximum discharge), 1940 (instantaneous maximum discharge). WSP 1928: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1936 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and concrete control. Datum of gage is 2,178.92 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to Dec. 1, 1954, at datum 1.00 ft higher.
REMARKS - Peaks are attenuated by small conservation reservoir 1 mi upstream since August 1956. No regulation or diversion upstream from station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 1,580 ft³/s, Jan. 16, 1993, gage height, 6.86 ft, from rating curve extended above 340 ft³/s; no flow for part of some years.
