LOCATION - Lat 34°26'30", long 118°55'35" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.12, T.4 N., R.20 W., Ventura County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18070102,

WY 2023: Lat  34°26'40.52" N, Long 118°55'39.36" W on right bank, 0.4 mi downstream from Little Sespe Creek, 2.8 mi north on Grand Avenue from Telegraph Road, and 2.8 mi north of Fillmore.

DRAINAGE AREA - 252 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 1911 to September 1913, October 1927 to September 1985, October 1990 to January 1993, October 1993 to current year; combined records of creek and canal, October 1927 to September 1939 monthly only, October 1939 to September 1985, October 1990 to January 1993. Prior to 1935, published as "at Sespe." CHEMICAL ANALYSES: Water years 1967-81. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Water years 1970-80. WATER TEMPERATURE: Water years 1967-78. SEDIMENT DATA: Water years 1956-62. 1967-78.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 555.46 ft above NAVD of 1988. Jan. 15, 1993, to Jan. 24, 2023, at site 1,000 ft downstream at datum 7.92 ft lower. Oct. 1, 1990, to Jan. 15, 1993, at site 0.5 mi upstream at same datum (relative to 1993-2023 gage location). Gage on diversion canal discontinued Jan. 15, 1993. See WSP 1315-B for history of changes prior to Jan. 17, 1946.
REMARKS - No regulation upstream from station. Fillmore Irrigation Co. has diverted water 1 mi upstream since September 1911. See schematic diagram of Santa Clara River Basin available from the California Water Science Center.
