LOCATION - Lat 34°25'39", long 119°43'31" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Santa Barbara County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18060013, in Pueblo Lands of Santa Barbara Grant, on right bank, upstream side of West Pueblo Bridge, in Santa Barbara. (REVISED)
DRAINAGE AREA - 8.38 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1970 to September 2011, October 2011 to December 2012 (discharge measurements only), January 2013 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage is 140 ft above NGVD of 1929. Prior to January 2013, stilling well gage 700 ft downstream at different site and datum.
REMARKS - At times water is released to the creek for groundwater recharge from Gibraltar Reservoir through Mission Tunnel several miles upstream.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 3,090 ft³/s, Feb. 23, 1998, gage height, 5.67 ft, from rating curve extended above 41 ft³/s, on basis of computation of flow in concrete-lined channel, maximum gage height, 6.60 ft, Jan. 10, 1995 at datum then in use, maximum gage height at current datum 10.43, Feb. 17, 2017; no flow most of each year.
