11128300 Alisal Reservoir near Solvang, CA
LOCATION - Lat 34°32'56", long 120°07'45" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.04, T.5 N., R.31 W., Santa Barbara County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18060010, in cove on right bank, 0.4 mi upstream from reservoir spillway, and 3 mi south of Solvang.
DRAINAGE AREA - 7.83 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 1971 to current year. Prior to October 1985, only month end elevations and contents published.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS - Lake is formed by earth-fill dam. Storage began Dec. 19, 1970. Usable capacity, 2,260 acre-ft, between bottom of outlet gate at elevation 555.70 ft, and crest of spillway at elevation 599.88 ft. Dead storage, 110 acre-ft. Inflow must total 150 acre-ft during any one month between November and June in order to store flows for that water year. Records, including extremes, represent total contents at 2400 hours. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum contents: 2,850 acre-ft, January 9, 2023, elevation, 605.12 ft. Minimum: 748 acre-ft, November 8-10, 1972, elevation, 577.15 ft.
