LOCATION - Lat 36°54'20.20", long 121°45'06.80" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.00, T.12 S., R.2 E., Santa Cruz County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18060002, in Bolsa del Pajaro Land Grant, on right bank, at downstream side of Main Street Bridge in Watsonville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1,272 mi².  
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1911 to September 1913; different location and datum, October 1971 to September 1973; different datum, February 2019 to current year.
GAGE - Datum of gage is 1.98 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS - Low flows regulated by Hernandez Reservoir, capacity, 18,500 acre-ft; Pacheco Lake, capacity, 6,140 acre-ft; Chesbro Reservoir, capacity, 8,090 acre-ft; Uvas Reservoir, capacity, 9,950 acre-ft; and San Felipe Lake. Many diversions upstream from station for irrigation.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 12,800 ft³/s, Mar. 11, 2023, gage height 32.10 ft at current datum; no flow at times in 1912-13.
