11358020 Lost Creek below Diversion to Lost Creek Powerplant No. 1, near Old Station, CA
LOCATION - Lat 40°45'35", long 121°24'46" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.34, T.34 N., R.5 E., Shasta County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18020003, on right bank, 0.4 mi downstream from Lost Creek Diversion Dam, 2.5 mi downstream from Porcupine Reservoir, 6.0 mi north of Old Station, and 13.2 mi southeast of Cassel.
DRAINAGE AREA - 7.53 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1989 to September 1997, October 1998 to current year (operated as low-flow station only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and sharp-crested weir. Elevation of gage is 3,900 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records, including discharge for Lost Creek No. 1 Powerplant near Old Station (station 11358010), were collected by Snow Mountain Hydro LLC, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 3863.
REMARKS - During times of powerplant operation, the minimum release requirement is 15 ft³/s; flow is computed to 80 ft³/s. See schematic diagram of Pit River and McCloud River Basins available from the California Water Science Center. 2019 Water Year record was not furnished to USGS.
