11362950 East Fork Nelson Creek below diversion to Nelson Creek, near Big Bend, CA
LOCATION - Lat 41°02'25", long 121°52'28" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.29, T.37 N., R.1 E., Shasta County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18020003, on right bank, 700 ft upstream from Nelson Creek, and 2.3 mi northeast of Big Bend.
DRAINAGE AREA - 8.18 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1993 to current year (beginning October 1996, low-flow records only). Record for 2018 water year did not meet U.S. Geological Survey requirements and were not published.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and broad-crested weir; water-stage recorder and sharp-crested weir. Elevation of gages is 2,360 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records provided by Sierra Pacific Industries, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) project no. 9029.
REMARKS - Flow at this station has two components which are combined for publication: flow over a broad-crested weir (station 11362940) and flow over a sharp-crested weir (station 11362945). Water is diverted upstream of weirs through a pipe to Nelson Creek (station 11362900). Flows computed to 50 ft³/s. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge (water years 1993-95), 267 ft³/s, Mar. 15, 1995; minimum daily, 0.07 ft³/s, Aug. 12 to Sept. 23, 1994, and Oct. 11, 1994.
