LOCATION - Lat 40°27'59", long 121°49'24" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.11, T.30 N., R.1 E., Shasta County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18020153, on right bank, 250 ft downstream from Spring Creek, 0.4 mi upstream from Ponderosa Way, 3.3 mi northeast of Manton, and 3.9 mi southeast of Shingletown.
DRAINAGE AREA - 29.6 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1990 to Sep. 2018 (operated as a low-flow station only).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and V-notch weir. Elevation of gage is 2,650 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records, including discharge for Ponderosa-Bailey Creek Powerplant (station 11376110), provided by Snow Mountain Hydro LLC, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 8357, not rounded to U.S. Geological Survey standards.
REMARKS - During times of powerplant operation the minimum release requirement is 17 ft³/s; flow is computed to 109 ft³/s. See schematic diagram of Battle Creek and Cow Creek Basins available from the California Water Science Center. 2019 Water Year record was not furnished to USGS.
