LOCATION - Lat 40°01'26", long 122°30'39" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.14, T.25 N., R.6 W., Tehama County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18020156, on left bank, 2.3 mi downstream from South Fork Elder Creek, 8.2 mi northwest of Flournoy, and 10 mi north of Paskenta.
DRAINAGE AREA - 92.4 mi².
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 1515: 1956. WDR CA-70-2: 1967 (peaks above base). WDR CA-75-4: 1966-67 (peaks above base), 1969-71 (peaks above base), 1973 (peaks above base). WDR CA-78-4: Drainage area. WDR CA-94-4: 1993 (peaks above base).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1948 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1315-A. CHEMICAL DATA: Water years 1959-66. WATER TEMPERATURE: Water year 1963. SEDIMENT DATA: Water years 1963-70.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 721.10 ft above NAVD of 1988. Prior to Aug. 13, 1965, water-stage recorder at site 300 ft downstream at datum 5.13 ft lower.
REMARKS - No regulation or large diversion upstream from station. See schematic diagram of upper Sacramento River Basin available from the California Water Science Center.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 17,700 ft³/s, Feb. 28, 1983, gage height, 12.10 ft, from rating curve extended above 5,200 ft³/s, on basis of slope-area measurements at gage height 11.34 ft and of peak flow, maximum gage height, 13.90 ft, Feb. 24, 1958, site and datum then in use; no flow at times some years.
