LOCATION - Lat 39°25'16", long 120°32'28" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.17, T.18 N., R.13 E., Nevada County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18020125, Tahoe National Forest, on right bank near French Lake Dam on Canyon Creek, 0.5 mi upstream from Weil Lake, and 8.2 mi north of Cisco.
DRAINAGE AREA - 4.60 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1989 to current year (low-flow records only). Unpublished records for water years 1967-88 available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and V-notch sharp-crested weir. Elevation of gage is 6,680 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. Prior to January 1989, nonrecording gages at three sites and datums.
COOPERATION - Records were collected by Nevada Irrigation District, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 2266.
REMARKS - No records computed above 2.6 ft³/s. All flow during the 2014 through 2020 water years was above 2.6 ft³/s . Flow regulated by French Lake (station 11414400).
