LOCATION - Lat 38°47'40", long 120°46'28" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.20, T.11 N., R.11 E., El Dorado County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18020129, on left bank, 500 ft downstream from Rock Creek Road, and 4.0 mi north of Placerville.
DRAINAGE AREA - 73 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1986 to September 2008, October 2009 to September 2010, October 2011 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and broad-crested weir; water-stage recorder and sharp-crested weir. Elevation of gages is 1,305 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
COOPERATION - Records, including discharge through Rock Creek Powerplant (station 11444280), provided by Rock Creek Limited Partnership, under general supervision of the U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project no. 3189.
REMARKS - Records for 2014-2016, 2020-2022 water years were not provided in time for annual review and therefore were not published. Records for 2018 and 2019 water year did not meet U.S. Geological Survey requirements and were not published. Flow at this station has two components which are combined for publication: flow over a broad-crested weir (station 11444200) and flow over a sharp-crested weir (station 11444260). Water is diverted upstream from weirs through a tunnel to Rock Creek Powerplant, returning to Rock Creek at its confluence with the South Fork American River. Extremes represent combined flows.
