LOCATION - Lat 38°14'18", long 122°38'21" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.33, T.5 N., R.7 W., Sonoma County, CA, Hydrologic Unit 18050002, on left bank, 0.1 mi upstream from Washington Street Bridge, at Copeland Pumping Station, in Petaluma.
DRAINAGE AREA - 45.4 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1998 to September 2008, October 2009 to October 31, 2016 (discontinued). Tidally filtered daily mean flows only since October 2010.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and velocity meter. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929.
REMARKS - Prior to Oct. 1, 2013, no records computed below 20 ft³/s. Streamflow at this site are affected significantly by astronomical tides. Daily mean discharge was computed using the Godin low-pass filter to remove tidal effects from instantaneous values. By convention, the U.S. Geological Survey has established ebb (seaward) flows as positive flows and flood (landward) flows as negative flows.
