LOCATION - Lat 48°15'00", long 121°35'00" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Snohomish County, WA, Hydrologic Unit 17110006, in NE 1/4, NW 1/4, sec. 13, T 32 N, R 9 E., on left bank 7 miles upstream from Suiattle River, 0.55 miles Northeast of Darrington, and at mile 20.3.
DRAINAGE AREA - 293 mi².
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1914 to October 1926; June 1928 to September 1932; October 2011 to September 2016.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is arbitrary. U.S. Geological Survey satellite telemeter at station.
REMARKS - No known regulation or diversion upstream of station.
  • Water Year 2014: No estimated daily discharges. Records good except Oct. 1 to Aug. 18, which are fair, and discharges above 10,000 ft³/s, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2015, 2016: No estimated daily discharges. Records good except for discharges above 10,000 ft³/s, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 36,000 ft³/s, Dec. 29, 1917, Dec. 12, 1921, Feb. 26, 1932; minimum discharge, 262 ft³/s, Sept. 25, 1930; discharge may have been less during period of ice effect, Jan. 11-25, 1930.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, minimum, and mean from October 2016 to current year. TURBIDITY: Maximum, minimum, and median from October 2011 to January 6, 2016. 
INSTRUMENTATION - An FTS DTS-12 turbidity sensor interfaced with a Data Collection Platform/Electronic Datalogger, with 15-min recording interval, since October 2011.   • Water Year 2019: Water temperature records excellent except for Feb. 6 to Sept. 30, which are good and Oct. 1 to Feb. 5, which are fair. No record Oct. 13 to 16 and July 8 to 12.
