12210000 SOUTH FORK NOOKSACK RIVER AT SAXON BRIDGE, WA
LOCATION - Lat 48°40'40", long 122°09'55" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.21, T.37 N., R.5 E., Whatcom County, WA, Hydrologic Unit 17110004, at Saxon Bridge, 1.3 mi downstream from Skookum Creek, and 2.5 mi northeast of Wickersham.
DRAINAGE AREA - 129 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 2007 to September 2008 (gage height only). October 2008 to current year.
GAGE - Water stage recorder. Datum of gage is 350 ft. above NGVD 29 from river profile map.
REMARKS - Small diversion upstream of gage for fish hatchery which is returned back to the river upstream of the gage. U.S. Geological Survey satellite telemeter at station.
  • Water Year 2014 and 2017: Records good except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2015 and 2016: No estimated daily discharges. Records good.
  • Water Year 2018: No estimated discharges. Records good except for discharges above 1,500 ft³/s, which are fair and discharges above 6,000 ft³/s, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2019 and 2020: Records good except for discharges above 10,000 ft³/s and estimated discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 20,500 ft³/s, Dec. 12, 2010, gage height 8.78 ft; maximum gage height, 9.86 ft, Feb. 1, 2020; minimum daily discharge, 69.3 ft³/s, Aug. 13, 2015.

REMARKS -
  • Water Year 2014: WATER TEMPERATURE records good, except for Dec. 24-27 and Feb. 5-9 which are poor.
  • Water Year 2015: WATER TEMPERATURE records good.
  • Water Year 2016: WATER TEMPERATURE records excellent, except for Nov. 17 to Jan. 20, which are good. No record Oct. 26, 27.
  • Water Year 2017: WATER TEMPERATURE records excellent, record discontinued Dec. 8 to Sep. 30.
  • Water Year 2018: WATER TEMPERATURE records good.  No record Oct. 1-19, Mar.18 and 21-27.
  • Water Year 2019: WATER TEMPERATURE records excellent.
