USGS Water-Year Summary 2020
LOCATION - Lat 48°49'58", long 122°20'16" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.30, T.39 N., R.4 E., Whatcom County, WA, Hydrologic Unit 17110004, on left bank on the downstream side of Smith Road bridge, 1.5 mi south of Goshen, and at mile 3.0.
DRAINAGE AREA - 8.96 mi².
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1998 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 198.872 ft. above North American Vertical Datum 1988, (Level  II GNSS survey)  and 200 ft. above National  Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (topographic map).
REMARKS - No diversion upstream from station.
  • Water Year 2014: Records good except for June 18 to Sept. 30, which are fair and estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2015, 2016: No estimated daily discharges. Records fair.
  • Water Year 2017: Records good except for Oct. 1 to Dec. 14, which are fair and estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2018: Records good except for Jan. 25 to Apr. 10, May 10 to July 19, and Aug. 7 to Sept. 30, which are fair and estimated discharges, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2019: Records fair except for estimated discharges, which are poor.
  • Water Year 2020: Records fair except for discharges above 180 ft3/s and estimated discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 1,030 ft³/s, Jan. 7, 2009, gage height, 11.52 ft; minimum discharge, no flow, many days, many years.
INSTRUMENTATION - Temperature sensor with a 15-minute logging interval.

  • Water Year 2016: WATER TEMPERATURE records excellent except Feb. 14 to June 9, which are good; No record Aug. 22-31.
