LOCATION - Lat 48°59'50", long 116°34'09" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.11, T.65 N., R.2 W., Boundary County, ID, Hydrologic Unit 17010104, Smith Falls quad., on left bank near mouth of canyon, 0.2 mi south of international boundary, 3 mi west of Porthill, and at mile 3.5.
DRAINAGE AREA - 97 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1928 to current year (no winter records 1929, 1930).
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage datum is arbitrary.
REMARKS -
  • Water Year 2014: Records fair except for periods Nov. 20-28, Dec. 3-17, Jan. 5-8, 19-23, Jan. 31 to Feb. 14, Feb. 26, and Mar. 1-4, records poor.

  • EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 4080 ft³/s May 22, 2013 (from rating curve extended above 3,000 ft³/s), gage height, 15.28 ft, current datum; minimum discharge, 5.0 ft³/s occurred sometime between Nov. 10 and Dec. 3, 1936.
