LOCATION - Lat 48°20'10", long 117°17'31" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.30, T.33 N., R.44 E., Pend Oreille County, WA, Hydrologic Unit 17010216, on left bank at east end of Timber Street in town of Cusick.
DRAINAGE AREA - 24,600 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2015 to current year. (Unpublished daily elevation for May 1954 to September 2015 are available in the files of the Upper Columbia field office.)
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929 and is 3.99 ft above NAVD of 1988 (USGS GNSS survey, July 2020).
REMARKS - Elevation regulated by Box Canyon Dam, 35 miles downstream and Albeni Falls Dam 19.7 miles upstream, since June 1955 and by Pend Oreille Lake, Flathead Lake, Hungry Horse Reservoir, and by several smaller reservoirs and powerplants. Numerous diversions upstream from station for irrigation. U.S. Geological Survey satellite telemeter at station.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of June 1948 reached a elevation of 2,055.00 ft.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily elevation, 2,049.91 ft, June 7, 1997; minimum daily elevation, 1,990.58 ft, Sept. 30, 2013.
