LOCATION - Lat 43°37'15.2", long 110°37'23" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.11, T.42 N., R.115 W., Teton County, WY, Hydrologic Unit 17040102, 3 mi below Turpin Creek and 0.3 mi south of Kelly, WY.
DRAINAGE AREA - 622 mi² of which 13 mi² probably is noncontributing.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June to September 1918, October 1944 to September 1958 (continuous record), 2002, 2006, 2007 miscellaneous discharge measurements, April 2008 to September 2010 (no winter records), October 2010 to November 2012, March 2013 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 6,660 ft above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map. June 16 to September 30, 1918, staff gage at site 1.2 mi upstream at different datum. October 1, 1944 to August 8, 1949, wire-weight gage on bridge 280 ft upstream at different datum. August 9, 1949 to June 25, 1953, staff gage 315 ft upstream at different datum. May 15 to July 23, 1954, May 22 to June 28, 1955, supplementary staff gage 5 ft upstream at datum different, and May 20 1956 to July 10, 1958, supplementary staff gage at site 5 ft upstream at datum at different datum. July 10 to September 30, 1958, staff gage at site 305 ft upstream at different datum. U.S. Geological Survey data collection platform with satellite telemetry at station.
REMARKS - Diversions for irrigation occur above station.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of May 18, 1927, when landslide about 4 mi upstream washed out, released about 60,000 acre-ft of impounded water (discharge not determined).
