LOCATION - Lat 44°15'33", long 112°24'37" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.25, T.11 N., R.34 E., Clark County, ID, Hydrologic Unit 17040215, Indian Creek quad., on right bank 400 ft west of ranch house, 0.4 mi downstream from Indian Creek, 4 mi northwest of Small, and 11 mi northwest of Dubois.
DRAINAGE AREA - 261 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1921 to December 1923, October 1941 to January 1949, May 1985 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 5,461.67 feet above NAVD 1988. Non-recording gage, April 19, 1921 to December 19, 1923 at a site 100 ft. upstream at different datum. 1941-49, water-stage recorder at site 200 ft. upstream at different datum.
REMARKS - Many small diversions above station for irrigation. Water also diverted by ranches above station during winter months. Measured as beginning site of Medicine Lodge Creek Seepage Investigation in June, July, and September 2006; May, July, and September 2007 and 2008; July and August 2009; May, July, and October 2010; May, July, August, and September 2011; May, July, and September 2012; June, and August 2013; June, July, and October 2014; June, July, and August 2015; July and August 2016; July and August 2017. 
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 481 ft³/s June 19, 1995, gage height, 9.09 ft; maximum gage height, 10.71 ft March 22, 2018 (unverified ice jam); minimum observed, 2.77 ft³/s Mar. 12, 2022, (verified ice jam upstream, estimated) from computed discharge.
