LOCATION - Lat 43°52'13.00", long 113°05'17.00" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.34, T.7 N., R.28 E., Butte County, ID, Hydrologic Unit 17040217, on the left bank a quarter mile above the diversion dam for the Blaine County Investment Co. canal, and 7 miles northwest of Howe, Idaho.
DRAINAGE AREA - 697 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1921 to September 1981. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1317. May 1985 to October 1990 (no winter records prior to October 1940). April 2014 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Elevation of gage datum is arbitrary. Prior to Sept. 2 1938, non-recording gage at site 120 ft. downstream at datum 1.39 ft. higher.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, about 450 ft³/s August 11, 1936, during cloudburst, 5.40 ft, present site and datum from rating curve extended above 220 ft³/s; maximum gage height observed, 6.63 ft, Jan. 23, 1957 (backwater from ice); minimum discharge observed before construction of bypass, 4.1 ft³/s Dec. 12, 1940. Following construction of bypass, many days of no flow.
