  • January 22, 2018 - USGS Water Data availability during lapse in Federal funding

    Due to a lapse in Federal funding, the U.S. Geological Survey must suspend those parts of its data collection and distribution processes requiring human intervention. However, automated reporting and serving of telemetered data will continue.

    Users may note some degradation in the quality and completeness of real-time streamflow, groundwater and water-quality data from some reporting stations due to the suspension of field calibrations and adjustments, especially as high flows occur, aquatic vegetation becomes dominant, or ice forms in high altitude streams. The USGS will continue to monitor some performance aspects of its network using a skeleton workforce.

LOCATION - Lat 43°47'10", long 114°25'09" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.03, T.5 N., R.17 E., Blaine County, ID, Hydrologic Unit 17040219, Amber Lakes quad., on left bank approximately 250 ft. upstream of bridge.
DRAINAGE AREA - 40 mi².
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 2011 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage datum is arbitrary.

  • Water Year 2014: Records fair except for periods Nov. 4-5, 17-18, 21-27, 29, Dec. 3-14, 25-26, 29-30, Jan. 4-7, 17-26, 28, 31, Feb. 1-8, 15-17, 21, Mar. 12-14, 18-19, and 21-23, are poor.
  • Water Year 2015: Records fair except for periods Nov. 11-22, 24, Nov. 30 to Dec. 03, 13-18, Dec. 20 to Jan. 05, 9, 13-24, Jan. 29 to Feb. 02, 6-8, 13, Feb. 15 to Mar. 10, Mar. 25, Apr. 03 and 07, records poor.

    WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
    PERIOD OF RECORD - Continuous water temperature data were collected from May 14 to Sept. 24, 2014.
    REMARKS - Numerical uncertainty is not currently computed for time-series water-quality records but qualitative ratings are provided based on professional judgment. The temperature sensor was installed as part of a baseline study on water-quality and biological conditions on May 14, 2014 and removed indefinitely on Sept. 24, 2014. 100% of the daily values will be reported between May 15 and Sept. 23, 2014. No daily values are estimated.
